Fall is a season of change. It invites reflection and can be a perfect time to take stock of your career and life.
With change all around you, when is the last time you asked yourself how things are going at work and allowed yourself a truly honest answer?
A common misconception about coaching is that I will tell you what you should do with your career! As a coach, I will guide you through a process to help uncover the answers from the inside out. Once you discover who you really are then we spend time identifying what you can realistically change to make your career more meaningful.
So, where do you start?
Take 10 minutes, close your door and consider the last positive experience you had at work. It doesn’t have to be big. Perhaps a positive interaction with a colleague, a contribution you made to a team project or a presentation you gave. If nothing comes to mind, think about a volunteer experience or a personal accomplishment that makes you smile.
Now jot down all the things that made the experience positive.
What does this tell you about what you need more of in your current work or life?
What is the first step you can take to make things better for yourself?
Working with a coach does not mean you are leaving your job. It does mean that you want your job to be more positive…and it may be time to figure out what you can do to make that happen!
